Attendance
Practice
Swimmers are encouraged to attend ALL scheduled practices. Each level coach will establish a minimum number of practices to attend each week in order to remain in that training group. This will be used in determining level placement.
Meets
The swimmer is required to attend all meets as designated by the coach. Any meets that are optional (i.e., MLK
in New York) will be identified and a substitute meet in the New England are
will be given. It is important to swim BOTH days in each meet on the
calendar. Coaches will pick the swimmers events in meets entered. Please
follow the coach’s direction. Times will be used in determining level
placement.
Performance
Practice
Each level will have specific levels of
practice performance (test sets) which will be done on a regular basis and
recorded. Swimmers must be attentive and follow coaches’ instructions and
learn to monitor and evaluate their practice performances (read a pace
clock, know their times, etc.) These may be used in determining level
placement.
Meets
Each level will attend meets suited for their age group and
ability. Swimmers will be encouraged to swim all strokes (including
Individual Medley) and distance with the goal of having an official time in
every event by the end of the short course season in March.
These may be
used in determining level placement.
